Steelers again show grit, but were haunted by mistakes NFL Football 02/08/2011
(MySportsbook) - The Pittsburgh Steelers finally found an obstacle they couldn't quite overcome in Super Bowl XLV. Unfortunately, it was themselves. Turnovers proved pivotal to the outcome of Sunday's title bout with the Green Bay Packers. Three Steelers giveaways were converted into 21 crucial points by their opportunistic opponent in a 31-25 victory that foiled the Black and Gold's goal of capturing an unprecedented seventh Lombardi Trophy. Two interceptions by quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, one of which w

The ones that persevere usually have top-notch scouts and enough depth to carry on and reach the ultimate goal: hoisting the Vince Lombardi Trophy in recognition as champion of the NFL. So when Green Bay Packers defensive captain Charles Woodson left Super Bowl XLV in the second quarter with a broken collarbone, head coach Mike McCarthy and his staff, like they did so many other times throughout this season, were forced to summon one of the reserves to fill

Broadway's Vince Lombardi show has super night Headlines 02/07/2011

NEW YORK (AP) - It wasn't too hard to guess which team producers of Broadway's ``Lombardi'' were rooting for at the Super Bowl.

Tony Ponturo, who co-produced the play about legendary Green Bay Packers coach Vince Lombardi, said Monday that they're ``certainly not complaining about'' the dramatic victory by the Packers over the Steelers.

Steelers remain stuck on six Super Bowl titles NFL Football 02/07/2011

PITTSBURGH (AP) - A silver lining for the Steelers faithful is all the ``Seventh Heaven'' merchandise will still be good for at least another year.

The Pittsburgh Steelers remain stuck on six Super Bowl titles after their 31-25 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. One day after the defeat, the gloomy weather in Pittsburgh seemed fitting for a city dealing with a rare loss in the big game.

If there's one franchise that isn't used to this feeling, it's the Steelers. Sure, they lost a Super Bowl before,
