Favre recovering from ankle surgery NFL Football 02/27/2007
Green Bay, WI (MySportsbook) - Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre underwent minor ankle surgery Monday morning. "The procedure went as expected and he is recovering at this time," Packers general manager Ted Thompson said in a release. "We expect no complications and that he will be cleared to participate in offseason workouts similar to his schedule in 2006." Favre announced his decision to return for a 17th season earlier this month. The future Hall of Famer started all 16 games for the 14th straight
Packers sign Jenkins to 4-year contract extension NFL Football 02/26/2007

MILWAUKEE (AP) -Defensive lineman Cullen Jenkins has signed a four-year, $16 million contract extension with the Green Bay Packers.

The deal will pay Jenkins about $6 million in signing bonus, agent Cary Fabrikant said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press.

Jenkins has played defensive tackle and defensive end for the Packers, and said he doesn't know where he'll fit in the defensive line rotation this season. For now, he's just happy he doesn't have to worry about an uncertain future.

Assistant County Attorney Paul Tanis said Robinson will be on probation for three years. He also must complete 80 hours of community service and pay a $1,500 fine.

Robinson is now with the Green Bay Packers.

Tanis said Robinson must report to the county jail by March 1, although he may serve the 90-day sentence in Wisconsin if he choses to do so.

Robinson can also serve the sentence at the same time he serves 90 days for violating his probation in

Favre to have ankle surgery in next few weeks Headlines 02/18/2007

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Brett Favre will have ankle surgery in the next few weeks, and Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy says the three-time MVP will have plenty of time to recover for minicamps.

The 37-year-old quarterback was supposed to have surgery on his left ankle the day after the season, but skipped it and had yet to reschedule.

``Yes, we're looking to have it done ... in the next couple of weeks,'' McCarthy said.

The 49ers had the NFL's worst offense in 2005 under offensive coordinator Mike McCarthy, who left to become the Green Bay Packers' head coach.
