Redskins WR Moss pulls himself from game, blames himself for loss to Packers NFL Football 10/14/2007

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -First Santana Moss benched himself, then blamed himself for the Redskins' 17-14 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. His Washington teammates declined to pile on, saying Moss was being too critical of his play.

``I just didn't feel right. I took myself out,'' said Moss, who left the game shortly after a costly fumble. ``Something wasn't feeling right with me and why go out there and keep another guy from helping us win? ... I wasn't making the plays that I should have been making.'

Ashburn, VA (MySportsbook) - Washington Redskins wide receiver Antwaan Randle El is listed as questionable for this Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers because of a hamstring injury. Randle El didn't practice all week after suffering the injury during last week's win over Detroit. Top wide out Santana Moss is listed as probable after missing last week's game with a groin injury. Randle El has 18 receptions for 338 yards this season, while Moss has 12 catches for 199 yards.

Now comes the brutal stretch. Five of the next seven are on the road, starting with Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers. There also are upcoming trips to New England and Dallas, both currently undefeated. The Redskins should know whether they're for real come Thanksgiving.

``If we want to get to where we want to be, we have to play well on the road,'' center Casey

Redskins' defense poses tough test for pass-happy Packers NFL Football 10/11/2007

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -At this point, teams must know what's coming from Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers.

Going into Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins at Lambeau Field, the Packers (4-1) lead the league with an average of 294.6 yards passing per game. They're also the league's second-worst rushing team, and Favre's downfield accuracy isn't quite what it used to be.

It doesn't take a week in the video vault to figure out that the Packers plan to dissect defenses with quick, short passes th

Small-town people not only have their own set of jokes, they are also quite neighborly. So during the offseason Campbell figured he would pay a visit to the Green Bay Packers legend, who now lives in Hattiesburg. The Washington Redskins quarterback walked up - unannounced - to the call box outside Favre's gated home.

No answer. Campbell waited five minutes and went away.

Part of the problem is that the offensive line is still searching for some consistency, after losing standouts Darnell Stapleton (Pittsburgh Steelers) and Cameron Stephenson (Green Bay Packers) to graduation.

``We definitely have young guys playing at some positions,'' Rice said. ``They've played enough football now that they know what happens if they're one second too late or if they don't maintain their blocks.''

for everybody." If Robert Louis Stevenson was still alive and a football fan, you'd have to think the Lions would be his favorite team. The loss is doubly unfortunate for Detroit, for if the Lions had won they would have shared first place with the Green Bay Packers, who lost to Chicago on Sunday night, in the NFC North. In one of the more amazing stats in this game, Detroit fell to 0-21 in the capital since the Redskins moved to Washington in 1937. Also, the Lions fell to 0-12 when they face Redskins coach Joe
Packers LB Nick Barnett charged with 2 counts of disorderly conduct Headlines 10/09/2007

APPLETON, Wis. (AP) -Green Bay Packers linebacker Nick Barnett was charged Tuesday with two counts of disorderly conduct stemming from an altercation with two women in a bar this summer.

``We will enter not-guilty pleas to the two charges and will defend these charges aggressively,'' lawyer Avi Berk said.

The Packers, who gave the 26-year-old Barnett a six-year, $34.85 million contract extension in April, have monitored the situation since Barnett's arrest, but have previously declined to comment.

TIME TO PACK The Redskins will hit the road for the second time this season on Sunday, when they pay a visit to historic Lambeau Field for a key October meeting with Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers. Both teams are off to terrific beginnings to their 2007 campaigns, as Green Bay won its first four games before being handed a 27-20 home setback to rival Chicago this past weekend.
