Rodgers, Urlacher, Ginn tabbed as NFC's best for Week 1 NFL Football 09/14/2011
New York, NY (MySportsbook) - Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher and San Francisco return specialist Ted Ginn Jr. have been chosen as the NFC's top players for Week 1 of the NFL season. Rodgers had a banner opening night last Thursday against New Orleans to capture the offensive award, completing 27-of-35 passes for 312 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in Green Bay's 42-34 win. He misfired on just one of his 15 throws in the first quarter and h

NBC gets strong ratings for NFL opener Headlines 09/10/2011

NEW YORK (AP) - The NFL opener between the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers was the second-highest rated season kickoff game.

The Packers' 42-34 victory drew a 17.2 overnight rating and a 28 share for Thursday night's game. That also was the second best prime-time rating in 13 years, since a 17.4/27 for a Denver-Miami game in 1998.

Bears host Falcons in matchup of 2010 playoff entries NFL Football 09/09/2011
e Falcons entered the NFC playoffs as a No. 1 seed at the tail end of a 13- win regular season last winter, before their chance at a championship trip to Dallas disappeared in 60 minutes in the rubble of a 48-21 blowout by the eventual title-winning Green Bay Packers in the Divisional Round. But rather than wallowing in overhyped despair and patching up its defense, Atlanta boldly addressed offensive needs in the offseason by jumping up to make the University of Alabama's Julio Jones -- considered one of the top
Packers survive Saints in high-scoring thriller NFL Football 09/08/2011
Green Bay, WI (MySportsbook) - Aaron Rodgers passed for three touchdowns, all in a thrill-a-minute first quarter, and the Green Bay Packers survived a breathless final seconds Thursday to beat the New Orleans Saints 42-34 in the NFL season opener. In a meeting between the last two Super Bowl champions, the Saints marched deep into Green Bay territory on the final drive and got an extra play because of a pass interference penalty. But rookie Mark Ingram was stuffed from the one-yard line, ending the game and g
Cobb ties NFL record with 108-yard return NFL Football 09/08/2011
Green Bay, WI (MySportsbook) - Green Bay Packers rookie Randall Cobb returned a kickoff 108 yards for a touchdown Thursday night to tie the NFL record. Cobb was spun horizontally by a hard hit from New Orleans' Leigh Torrence, but remained on his feet and sprinted down the left side of the field in the third quarter of the 2011 NFL season opener.
