| Detroit, MI (MySportsbook) - The Detroit Tigers and right-hander Justin Verlander agreed to terms on a one-year contract Tuesday, thereby avoiding arbitration. A story on the Tigers' official website puts the number at $3.675 million. Verlander had a subpar year in 2008, going 11-17 with a 4.84 earned-run average and 163 strikeouts in 201 innings over 33 starts.
