DETROIT (AP) - Brett Favre wasn't the only inactive player for Minnesota in its game against the Detroit Lions. Wide receiver Sidney also was out with a concussion. The inactives for the Lions were linebacker Julian Peterson and cornerback Chris Houston (shoulder). Favre sat out in what he has said will be the final game of his career because of a concussion two games ago. Joe Webb started at quarterback in his place.Copyright © 2005 The Associated Press. | (MySportsbook) - If Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre's history of indecisiveness has any bearing, Sunday's season finale against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field may not be the future Hall of Famer's last game. But then again, what Favre has had to endure in 2010 will most likely lead to the gunslinger's third -- and this time permanent -- retirement. Favre's been dealing with elbow, shoulder and neck issues and is hoping to get clearance to play on Sunday following a concussion suffered against C |

He hit rock bottom as the starting defensive end for the 2008 Detroit Lions, the first NFL club to complete a 16-game schedule without a victory. ``All I can tell you is that 0-16 team taught me a lot about myself, about things I can work on to get better. It taught me, as a man and as a player, how to handle adversity,'' |

| Lions' improved roster has given coaches a chance |

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) - The Detroit Lions are vastly improved just two years after becoming the NFL's first 0-16 team. They have a Pro Bowl starter on both sides of the ball and a front office that has made a lot of good moves to give their coaches a chance. Receiver Calvin Johnson and defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh will represent the franchise next month in Hawaii. Detroit has more than doubled last season's win total with three straight victories in December for the first time since 1995. The Lio |

DOLPHINS: Miami Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano was already on the hot seat heading toward the 2011 season, and a 34-27 home loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday did little to help his cause. Sparano's fate ultimately lies in the hands of owner Stephen Ross, who inherited the coach when he completed his purchase of the franchise two years ago. ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) - Detroit Lions coach Jim Schwartz says his team hasn't ``arrived'' after winning three straight games for the first time in three years. The Lions overcame a double-digit deficit with 17 points in a 2-minute, 26-second stretch Sunday to beat the Miami Dolphins 34-27. Detroit previously defeated playoff-contending Tampa Bay and Green Bay, giving the franchise its first three-game winning streak since the first half of the 2007 season and its first in December since 1995. | Miami, FL (MySportsbook) - DeAndre Levy's interception return for a touchdown with 2:11 to play gave the Detroit Lions a 34-27 win over the Miami Dolphins at Sun Life Stadium. Shaun Hill went 14-for-26 with 222 yards and two touchdowns for the Lions (5-10), who rallied from a 10-point deficit in the final five minutes to win their third game in a row. "Earlier in the season we would have liked for the breaks to go our way," said Hill. "It just wasn't happening for whatever reason, but I guess we were due |
