ed two kickoffs for touchdowns to lead the Bears. Oakland's season has been a disaster from the start, and the club dropped to 2-11 with last week's 27-10 setback in Cincinnati. The Raiders are currently tied for the worst record in the NFL with the Detroit Lions. SERIES HISTORY The Raiders lead the all-time series with the Rams, 7-3, but were 28-13 road losers when the teams last met, in 2002. Oakland won the previous meeting, 35-17, at McAfee Coliseum in 1997. St. Louis is 0-2 all-time in Oakland, and thei
Lions' Kevin Jones faces long recovery after foot surgery NFL Football 12/14/2006

DETROIT (AP) -Detroit Lions running back Kevin Jones underwent surgery on his injured left foot Wednesday and will begin a long rehabilitation period.

The Lions' leading rusher was injured late in Sunday's 30-20 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Lions trainer Al Bellamy confirmed that Jones sustained a Lisfranc injury, a tearing of the tissues that connect the bones in the middle of the foot.

Detroit linebacker Teddy Lehman missed more than 12 months with a similar injury. More optimistic projections hav

and there seems to be no end in sight. Over the course of just a few seasons, the once-great franchise has become a model of how not to build a winner in the modern NFL. Oakland is 2-11 this year and is tied for the worst record in the NFL with the Detroit Lions. In fairness to the Raiders, they are probably a better team than the Lions, who play in the NFC North, a much easier division than Oakland's AFC West. Still, it is probably a small consolation to a fan base as rabid as the Raiders' that they are a

Allen Park, MI (MySportsbook) - The Detroit Lions placed running back Kevin Jones on the injured reserve list Tuesday with a left foot injury. Jones suffered the setback in Sunday's loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Jones played in 12 games this season and was enjoying his best campaign with 1,209 total yards of offense including a career-high 520 yards receiving on 61 receptions. The former Virgina Tech product finished the season with 689 rushing yards with a career-high eight touchdowns. During his four-y

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) -The Detroit Lions placed running back Kevin Jones on injured reserve Tuesday, ending his season two days after he injured his left foot.

Jones hurt the foot late in Sunday's 30-20 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, and team officials said Monday they were concerned he may have a Lisfranc fracture-dislocation, an injury that kept linebacker Teddy Lehman on the sidelines for nearly 12 months.

It is a serious injury involving the bones and ligaments on the top of the foot, and can be

Silence at Ford Field lets Lions hear how bad they are NFL Football 12/11/2006

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) -Ford Field was so quiet Sunday that Roy Williams claimed he could hear fans ordering hot dogs at the concession stands.

The Detroit Lions players don't blame their fans for being apathetic.

Some of them are wondering what even brings them to the stadium to watch one of the worst teams in recent memory. After losing 30-20 to Minnesota, the Lions are 2-11. The franchise has lost at least 10 games in six straight seasons.

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) -Detroit Lions running back Kevin Jones will not play at Green Bay on Sunday, and team officials are concerned his foot injury could keep him out a lot longer.

Jones injured his left foot late in Sunday's 30-20 loss to the Minnesota Vikings and was undergoing testing on Monday. He may have a fracture/dislocation of the foot, an injury that kept linebacker Teddy Lehman on the sidelines for nearly 12 months.
