| back- to-back football national championships in 1932 and 1933. The Wolverines went undefeated both seasons, and Ford was named the team's Most Valuable Player during his senior season. Ford eventually chose Yale Law School over NFL offers from the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers. It was a sign of his life's passion. He was the longest-living president, followed closely by Ronald Reagan, who also passed away at 93. A family statement did not mention the cause of death. Ford battled pneumonia last Januar |

The 10th Motor City Bowl, featuring a team from Michigan for the first time, drew a record crowd of 54,113 at the home of the NFL's Detroit Lions. ``People laughed at us when we started this bowl,'' Motor City Bowl CEO George Perles said. ``I don't think people can do that anymore.''Copyright © 2005 The Associated Press. | Detroit, MI (MySportsbook) - Robbie Gould kicked four field goals, including three in the final quarter, as the Chicago Bears rallied for a 26-21 win over the Detroit Lions. Rex Grossman completed 20-of-36 passes for 197 yards and was intercepted once for the NFC North Champion Bears (13-2), who have already clinched home-field advantage throughout the conference playoffs. Brian Griese relieved Grossman in the fourth quarter and engineered the go-ahead drive, finishing the game 6-of-9 for 51 yards. The Be |

DETROIT (AP) -The Detroit Lions' latest miserable season can't end soon enough for their disappointed fans. About 100 spectators left their seats midway through the second quarter of the Lions' 26-21 loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday and called for the firing of general manager Matt Millen as they gathered in Ford Field's atrium. Many of the protesters headed for the exits at halftime, where they were greeted by stadium employees handing out ``Go Lions'' stickers. They almost missed a surprising v |

| (MySportsbook) - The Chicago Bears will have to put together a plan of attack for Sunday's game at the Detroit Lions, and that strategy will have little to do with run-pass balance, taking shots down the field, or safety blitzes. The NFC North Champion Bears, who have already clinched homefield advantage throughout the conference portion of the postseason, must decide how much to play the principal members of their 12-2 team, if at all. Should Chicago, which hasn't won a playoff game since 1994, hold its |

Only four days after holding the injury-riddled Detroit Lions to only 142 net yards on offense, the Packers dominated the Minnesota Vikings' offense in a 9-7 victory at Lambeau Field on Thursday night. Johnson is not a suspect in Posey's death, but the Bears suspended him for one game for being at the club and he will miss Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions. He is due in court in the Lake County case on Jan. 9. DETROIT (AP) -Other than being an NFC North team, the Chicago Bears will be like the Detroit Lions in only one way Sunday. Both teams are not playing for anything. The only way Chicago (12-2) can lose is with injuries because it has clinched home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs. If Detroit (2-12) snaps its six-game losing streak, it could lose the No. 1 pick in the draft. The Bears insist they will play as if something is at stake, using their starters as long as necessary to win. They |

| (MySportsbook) - The Detroit Lions have never beaten Brett Favre in Lambeau Field, and despite the veteran quarterback's three interceptions, nothing changed this past Sunday. Detroit lost for the 12th time this season (and seventh time in seven tries on the road). "The effort and the energy was there, the execution was not," Lions coach Rod Marinelli said. "It was not good enough." That has been the theme in Detroit this year. In fact, with this being the sixth consecutive double-digit-loss season, that |
