ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) -The Detroit Lions re-signed defensive end Corey Smith to a one-year contract on Monday.

Smith, who was an unrestricted free agent, had 10 tackles and two sacks in Detroit last season. He started in one of eight games after signing with the Lions in November.

In the regular-season finale at Dallas, Smith had a sack and forced a fumble in his first career start.
