ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) -The Detroit Lions have a lot of tickets to sell to avoid a blackout. The team said Wednesday it has 10,000 tickets available for Sunday's home game against the Washington Redskins. If they're not sold by Thursday - or Friday, if the NFL grants an extension - the game will not be on TV in the Detroit, Lansing, Saginaw-Flint and Toledo, Ohio, markets. The Lions had 1,700 tickets available a week ago and sold them after a one-day extension. It allowed local viewers to watch the |

Favre last week set what the NFL believes to be the all-time record for consecutive games started, with 271. He hurt both hands in that game against the Detroit Lions, including the nail on his right thumb being bent all the way back. ``It doesn't feel good, but that was it,'' Favre said. ``It was a pretty good shot I took, but that was it.''Copyright © 2005 The Associated Press. Their 45-27 season-opening win at home against the rebuilding Detroit Lions turned out to be but a prelude to an even more lopsided 48-22 road victory at Philadelphia. ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) -The Detroit Lions chose Matthew Stafford over Mark Sanchez. Coach Jim Schwartz said Monday the Lions thought Stafford was the right player for them and still do. Stafford is tied for the NFL lead with five interceptions and has thrown only one touchdown for Detroit (2-0) this season. Sanchez is playing for the unbeaten Jets (2-0). The Lions decided to let Stafford - the No. 1 pick in the draft - learn on the field, instead of putting him on the sideline to watch veteran Daunt |

"He felt it pop," Redskins head coach Jim Zorn said of the injury. "So we're going to get that repaired. He'll go on injured reserve."
