Denver, CO (MySportsbook) - Denver Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton left Sunday's 27-17 preseason loss to the Chicago Bears after suffering a cut to his right index finger in the second quarter. On a pass play, Orton's right hand appeared to connect with Bears defensive end Adewale Ogunleye on the follow-through. He then saw his bloody finger, went over to the sideline and left the field. The Broncos termed it an "upper extremity" injury. Orton was 12-for-16 for 96 yards before leaving.

28, six weeks after the Eagles were ousted by the surprising Arizona Cardinals in the NFC Championship Game. On the opening day of the league's free agency period, longtime safety and franchise icon Brian Dawkins signed a five-year contract with the Denver Broncos, a move that sent the local fans and media contingent into a frenzy of shock and anger towards the organization for allowing such an act to take place. Outrage would quickly turn into jubilation, however, when Philadelphia acquired All-Pro offensive

must avoid another lousy start, and can't rely on another monumental collapse from a division foe. Both of those scenarios unfolded in 2008, when the Chargers opened the campaign with a 4-8 mark before winning their last four games and watching the Denver Broncos end their 16-game season after 13 games. If anyone has experience with collapses and some occasional luck from the same football gods that continue to reward him with head coaching jobs, it's San Diego's Norv Turner. Turner enters his third season a

(MySportsbook) - In this "what have you done for me lately?" NFL world, even two-time Super Bowl champion head coaches get their pink slip. Denver Broncos owner Pat Bowlen was asking the above question in December when he fired longtime head coach Mike Shanahan in order to open a new chapter with the baby-faced Josh McDaniels running the show. Bowlen couldn't get over the fact that his team had a three-game lead in the AFC West with three to play and the Broncos lost every game, including a 52-21 loss to r

Instead, the vagaries of NFL tiebreaking rules and overall strength of the AFC conspired to make the Patriots the first team to miss the playoffs with a record of 11-5 or better since the Denver Broncos were turned away from a 10- team postseason bracket in 1985. Only five teams in the league had a better record than the Patriots in 2008, but you would have had a tough time finding anyone around NFL nation - outside of the greater New England area, |

(MySportsbook) - The Chicago Bears know they traded for a 4,000-yard, Pro Bowl passer when they obtained Jay Cutler from the Denver Broncos in a blockbuster deal during the offseason. What they don't know is whether they got themselves a winner. Bears supporters who have been worn down by years and years of shoddy quarterback play, while thrilled with the acquisition of Cutler, will be quick to tell you that the 26-year-old hasn't translated his passing skills into a postseason berth since he was an Indian
