ST. LOUIS (AP) -Doug Armstrong, fired as the Dallas Stars general manager in November, was hired by the St. Louis Blues as their GM-in-waiting on Thursday. The 43-year-old Armstrong was selected the vice president of player personnel and will become general manager in 2010. | Under his guidance, the Blues have posted a 387-333-100 record and captured the President's Trophy as the top regular season team during the 1999-2000 campaign. Davidson also announced the club has named Doug Armstrong as vice president of player personnel. Armstrong will assume the general manager duties beginning in 2010. Armstrong joins the Blues after spending the past 17 seasons in the Dallas Stars organization. He served as the general manager the last six seasons before his dismissal last November. |
