The 33-year-old Fuentes is 1-4 with 26 saves and a 2.73 earned run average in 57 games this season for the reigning NL champs. He was placed on the bereavement list on Tuesday and missed two games. The lefty pitched a scoreless ninth inning in Colorado's 9-4 victory over the Padres Friday night. In a corresponding move, the club optioned pitcher Steven Register to Triple-A Colorado Springs. |
