Mangini set to announce QB decision Wednesday NFL Football 09/28/2009
Berea, OH (MySportsbook) - Cleveland Browns head coach Eric Mangini will decide Wednesday as to whom will quarterback the team going forward in the wake of an ugly 34-3 loss to the Ravens on Sunday. Mangini made the declaration Monday concerning the statuses of Brady Quinn and Derek Anderson. The first-year head coach's tactics were similar to start the season as Quinn was not officially named the starter until he stepped onto the field to lead the first-team offense in Week 1. However, an 0-3 start has prom

Bowl. Coughlin was a good enough coach that his prickliness didn't matter, and Mangini has a playoff appearance and another near-miss to show for the fact that he's not Rich Kotite in terms of coaching smarts. Mangini's biggest problem could be that Cleveland Browns Stadium figures to be more than half-empty in December and January, when the team plays half of its eight-game home schedule. But we say he deserves to stay even if that period is as bleak as many expect. THE LIST The five best quarterbacks in the l

imore, MD (MySportsbook) - The Baltimore Ravens continued their offensive assault with 479 yards of total offense, including a career-high 342 passing yards from Joe Flacco, while the defense had its best day of 2009 to date in a 34-3 win over the Cleveland Browns at M&T Bank Stadium. Both sides of the ball had a hand in the Ravens' (3-0) first touchdown, setting the tone for a day in which every unit made a contribution. Browns RB Lewis inactive for Sunday NFL Football 09/27/2009
Baltimore, MD (MySportsbook) - Cleveland Browns running back Jamal Lewis is listed as inactive for Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens with a hamstring injury. Lewis has had just 25 rushing attempts in the team's first two games -- both losses -- and has 95 yards and no touchdowns. In addition to Lewis, guards Rex Hadnot (knee), Floyd Womack (ankle) and kicker Phil Dawson (right calf) are all out for Sunday's tilt.
Browns seek to challenge surging Ravens NFL Football 09/26/2009
wins over the Chiefs (38-24) and Chargers (31-26), have recently learned about the dark side of their best offensive showing in recent memory. Fans in and around Baltimore want to know what happened to the defense. As the Ravens prepare to host the Cleveland Browns, a team that has scored one offensive touchdown in seven games dating back to last season, those fans might be about to get a reminder of the talent on that side of the ball. Though Baltimore has allowed an uncharacteristic 25 points per game throug
Ravens S Reed questionable vs. Browns NFL Football 09/25/2009
Owings Mills, MD (MySportsbook) - Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed is questionable for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns with a neck injury. Reed has been dealing with a neck impingement for a lengthy period of time and did not practice on Friday. The 31-year-old has played in both games for Baltimore this season and has six tackles; Reed has not missed a game since 2005. Also listed as questionable for Baltimore are linebacker Jarret Johnson (shoulder) and tight end L.J. Smith (hamstring).

BEREA, Ohio (AP) -Cleveland Browns running back Jamal Lewis did not participate in the early part of practice, presumably so he could get treatment on an injured hamstring.

Lewis also did not practice on Wednesday with the injury, which he sustained in Sunday's 27-6 loss to the Denver Broncos. He was seen in the locker room before practice Thursday, but he left as soon as reporters were allowed in.

The Browns play at Baltimore on Sunday.

BEREA, Ohio (AP) -Cleveland Browns running back Jamal Lewis did not practice Wednesday because of a hamstring injury, leaving his status for Sunday's game at Baltimore in question.
