| New York, NY (MySportsbook) - Pitcher Carlos Silva of the Philadelphia Phillies had his suspension reduced from six games to five for his part in a June 13 bench-clearing brawl with the Cincinnati Reds. He will begin serving the suspension Thursday against the Montreal Expos. Silva was suspended for six games for intentionally throwing at Adam Dunn, which incited the fracas. | Cincinnati, OH (MySportsbook) - The Cincinnati Reds recalled third baseman Brandon Larson from Triple-A Louisville on Thursday for his second stint in the majors this year. Larson started the season with the Reds, but was sent down to Louisville on April 19 after hitting .083 in 16 games. Larson takes the roster spot of infielder Ray Olmedo, who was optioned to Double-A Chattanooga four days earlier. In another move, the Reds assigned outfielder Wily Mo Pena to Louisville for a rehabilitation assignment. |
