Chargers sail into Cincinnati in must-win situation NFL Football 12/24/2010
w York Jets last week, giving each a two-game bulge on the Chargers with two games remaining. So while it may mean nothing if the Chiefs, Ravens and Jets continue to handle their own business elsewhere, a San Diego win this Sunday against the woeful Cincinnati Bengals is nonetheless as mandatory as it gets at this time of December. "We can only worry about ourselves," quarterback Philip Rivers said. "We must get to 10-6 and see if it is enough." Meanwhile, the Chargers' foes this week are simply in "play out the
AFC North: Finally, Bengals have reason to celebrate NFL Football 12/21/2010
(MySportsbook) - For one week at least, the Cincinnati Bengals looked an awful lot like the team that muscled its way to 10 victories and an AFC North title a season ago. That successful 2009 operation was built on a punishing rushing attack centered around powerful running back Cedric Benson and a physical defense that consistently stood its ground against the opposition, two elements that have been for the most part non-existent during Cincinnati's precipitous free-fall into the division cellar this year. Bu
Bengals place Owens on IR NFL Football 12/21/2010
Cincinnati, OH (MySportsbook) - The Cincinnati Bengals made it official on Tuesday and placed wide receiver Terrell Owens on injured reserve. Owens suffered a torn meniscus in his left knee during this past Sunday's game against Cincinnati. He had originally hurt the knee during a December 5 contest against New Orleans. The 37-year-old veteran, in his first season in Cincinnati, was leading the Bengals with 72 receptions, 983 yards and nine touchdowns.

Bengals top Browns to end lengthy skid NFL Football 12/19/2010
Cincinnati, OH (MySportsbook) - Cedric Benson rushed for 150 yards and one touchdown, as the Cincinnati Bengals snapped a franchise-long 10-game losing streak after edging the Cleveland Browns, 19-17, at Paul Brown Stadium. Carson Palmer threw for 209 yards on 14-of-23 completions for Cincinnati (3-11), which hadn't won since a 20-7 decision at Carolina on September 26. Clint Stitser kicked four field goals and Andre Caldwell caught four passes for 89 yards in the victory. "I talk all the time about the import
Jets hope to reverse trends in critical showdown with Steelers NFL Football 12/17/2010
't get any easier this week, when the Jets head to Pittsburgh, a place they have never won, to face a Steelers team that has won four in a row and is on the cusp of an AFC North title. The Steelers' train continued to roll this past week against the Cincinnati Bengals, as defenders Troy Polamalu and LaMarr Woodley both returned Carson Palmer interceptions for touchdowns to carry Pittsburgh to a 23-7 win. The Steelers (10-3) maintained the top spot in the division despite not scoring an offensive touchdown, as the
Lewis plays down TO's comments on coaches NFL Football 12/15/2010

CINCINNATI (AP) - Marvin Lewis is defending Terrell Owens a day after the receiver pointed a finger at the Cincinnati Bengals coaching staff for the team's lousy season.

Lewis played down those comments on Wednesday and said it's unfortunate Owens gets criticized nationally for speaking his mind.

On his cable television show with teammate Chad Ochocinco the night before, Owens said there's been a lot of underachieving from the owner on down. He also said the coaches are responsible for how the players perf

CB Keiwan Ratliff rejoins Bengals Headlines 12/15/2010

CINCINNATI (AP) - Cornerback Keiwan Ratliff has rejoined the Cincinnati Bengals, whose secondary is depleted by injuries.

Ratliff signed with his former team on Wednesday. He was a free agent after finishing the season with the Florida Tuskers of the UFL.

Ratliff was the Bengals' second-round pick out of Florida in 2004. He played in 51 games, starting eight of them, through 2007. He later was on the rosters of Tampa Bay, Indianapolis and Pittsburgh. The Bengals signed him for their playoff loss to the Jet

Terrell Owens blames Bengals coaches Headlines 12/14/2010

CINCINNATI (AP) - Receiver Terrell Owens says the Cincinnati Bengals' lousy season is the result of underchieving ``from the top down,'' and he particularly points a finger at the coaches.

During ``The T.Ocho Show'' with teammate Chad Ochocinco on the Versus cable sports network Tuesday night, he was asked why the Bengals are 2-11. They've lost 10 in a row, tying the club record.

Owens responded that ``you start with the owner, you start with the coaches'' when assessing blame. He also said the players are

AFC North: Steelers' defense provides the points NFL Football 12/14/2010
etwork) - The Pittsburgh Steelers' defense has been a difference- making unit all throughout the team's surge back to the top of the AFC's North division this season, and never more was the group's impact more profound than Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. On the strength of a pair of interception returns for touchdowns, the Steelers came through with their fourth straight victory and kept their hold on first place with a 23-7 triumph over the bumbling Bengals at Heinz Field. The two scores highlight
