CINCINNATI (AP) - Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga (mow-uh-LOO'-guy) feels a little bit like the one left out. He was part of a celebrated linebacker trio coming out of Southern California in 2009, expected to make a big impact in the NFL. It hasn't happened yet. Brian Cushing won the defensive rookie of the year award in 2009 with Houston. Clay Matthews made a pivotal play that helped Green Bay win the Super Bowl last season. CINCINNATI (AP) - The Cincinnati Bengals have waived quarterback Jordan Palmer, who came to training camp hoping to compete for a job but didn't get much of a chance. Palmer was the backup quarterback last season to brother Carson Palmer, who has decided to retire rather than play another season for the Bengals. | Birmingham, AL (MySportsbook) - Former Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Antwan Odom was reportedly shot in the upper right thigh early Monday morning. According to the Birmingham News, Odom was taken to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening injury after being shot at a home in Irvington, Alabama. Odom was released by the Bengals in July.
