| Lake Forest, IL (MySportsbook) - The Chicago Bears signed linebacker Darrell McClover to a one-year contract on Tuesday and released cornerback DeAngelo Smith. McClover has played in 28 games from 2006-08 with Chicago and totaled 36 tackles on special teams and also blocked two punts. Smith was inactive for Chicago's last two games after being claimed off waivers in Week 2. |

Now the players can worry about doing their jobs and playing and we can worry about the Chicago Bears this week, rather than worrying about the Bears [as well as] all the baggage from the last couple years. "So, you know, it's hard for me to have that kind of message to the team and then be running around like a fool after the game when we're 1-2. T |

OVERALL ANALYSIS Denver's rebuilt defense isn't the second coming of the 1985 Chicago Bears, but it'll look quite good again this week versus an Oakland offense that can barely complete a pass and will be without its best lineman on Sunday. | the plan again this Sunday in a tough task against the AFC North-rival Pittsburgh Steelers at Paul Brown Stadium. Pegged to be washed up -- no pun intended -- after being arrested as part of a boating party scandal a few years ago as a member of the Chicago Bears, Benson got a second chance to revive his career with the Bengals midway through last season. Since then, the former first-round pick out of Texas has planted himself back on the NFL map, and Cincinnati couldn't be happier for his revamped dedicatio |

| (MySportsbook) - In their first road trip without injured Pro Bowl linebacker Brian Urlacher, the Chicago Bears are not likely to have many tears shed for them by this week's opponent, the Seattle Seahawks. Seattle, plagued by the injury bug throughout its dismal 4-12 campaign of 2008, is already dealing with an infirmed list that rivals that of the Bears or anyone else in the league, for that matter. The concerns begin on offense, where a team that has already been minus left tackle Walter Jones (knee) a |

The next month, defensive tackle Bryan Pata was murdered hours after a practice, and the Hurricanes finished the season 6-6. Chicago Bears tight end Greg Olsen, who was on that team, said he wants to see Coker get a fresh start and climb back to where he was. ``It was a tough deal,'' Olsen said. ``Obviously he had a lot of success early on. | ND STRAIGHT THRILLER For the second straight week, Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Jeff Reed had the chance to be the hero -- twice. However, this time the veteran couldn't come through and his team was left with a bitter 17-14 defeat at the hands of the Chicago Bears. Reed connected on a game-tying field goal in the fourth quarter in Week 1 versus Tennessee, prior to hitting a game-winning 33-yard kick in overtime. It was the ninth game-winning field goal of his career, including the postseason. However, Reed fa |

| to the visiting Cincinnati Bengals this past Sunday, that concern remains. And a new one has popped up as well, as the Packers did a woeful job of protecting quarterback Aaron Rodgers for a second consecutive week. In the Pack's Week 1 win over the Chicago Bears, right tackle Allen Barbre took a beating from defensive end Adewale Ogunleye, surrendering a pair of sacks and being routinely beaten on a night when Rodgers was brought down four times and hurried many others.
