LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) -The Chicago Bears say it will take a team effort to overcome the likely loss of their second Pro Bowl defender this season. The Bears lost safety Mike Brown six games into the season. Now it's defensive tackle Tommie Harris who is unlikely to return. ``It's going to be tough to replace him. It's going to be like Mike Brown, you're not going to replace him,'' linebacker Brian Urlacher said Friday. ``It's going to be a group effort by our D-line.'' Brown was placed on injured r |

Taylor, who is fifth in the league with 1,098 yards rushing, was hurt in last week's loss to the Chicago Bears on what he called a late hit. Taylor grew up in Detroit, so this week's game is especially important to him with dozens of family members and friends planning to watch at Ford Field. But he won't push it. ``If I can go, I can go. ST. LOUIS (AP) -St. Louis Rams cornerback Tye Hill is expected back on the field Monday night against the Chicago Bears, but fellow rookie Victor Adeyanju will need at least an extra week after ending an attempt to play with a broken forearm. Hill, the Rams' first-round pick, has been nursing a left thigh injury the last two weeks. He was held out of Wednesday's practice. ``I've been playing on it for two weeks,'' Hill said Friday. ``I feel like it just needed a little rest and a little extra treatmen |

| Lake Forest, IL (MySportsbook) - Chicago Bears defensive tackle Tommie Harris could be done for the season with a hamstring injury, the team announced on Thursday. Harris, who has already been ruled out for the team's Monday night game in St. Louis, is going to see a specialist in Dallas. He is expected to be placed on injured reserve after seeing the specialist. "He has a significant pull," said Chicago coach Lovie Smith. "It could possibly be season-ending. Normally we don't put a player out this early. |

| he's been able to do, and with his size, speed and versatility, he is just an unbelievable package.'' Jackson secured his second straight 1,000-yard rushing season with four games to spare last week against the Cardinals, and 19 yards against the Chicago Bears on Monday night would top his career best. LaDainian Tomlinson and Larry Johnson are generally acknowledged as the top two backs in the NFL. Jackson feels he belongs in that company. ``I do, and what's even more challenging is I'm here to try to |

| AP) -Quarterbacks hog the spotlight in the NFL, much of the attention undeserved. That won't be the case on Monday night with a duo under scrutiny for different reasons, one for how poorly he's been playing and the other for what he's been saying. Chicago Bears coach Lovie Smith spent much of the week defending his decision not to bench Rex Grossman, who threw four more interceptions last week and had an abysmal passer rating of 1.3. But Brian Griese will remain the backup against the St. Louis Rams. ``G |

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) -Chicago Bears defensive tackle Tommie Harris, who made the Pro Bowl a year ago, could miss the remainder of the season with a severe hamstring injury. Harris left Sunday's game against Minnesota in the third quarter with what was originally announced as a sprained left knee. Coach Lovie Smith said Monday the injury was not considered season-ending. But on Thursday Smith said the hamstring injury was more severe than the knee sprain and that Harris was slated to go to Dallas to |

Long hailed as a heady player who won't make mistakes to cost his team games, Johnson threw four interceptions in last week's loss to the Chicago Bears. He was benched in the third quarter, and speculation about his job security has swirled ever since. Backup Brooks Bollinger injured his shoulder in the fourth quarter against the Bears and Childress indicated he will not be ready by Sunday. Tha |
