Certainly, the NFL is a fickle league. Through early November, the Chicago Bears were considered the league's top team. When they lost, the Colts again found themselves as the last remaining unbeaten team. Now, the San Diego Chargers are the trendy Super Bowl pick. CHICAGO (AP) -Chicago Bears left tackle John Tait and Pro Bowl defensive back Nathan Vasher were inactive for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay. Tait injured his ankle a week ago against St. Louis and Vasher missed his second straight game with a sore hamstring. Also inactive was troubled defensive tackle Tank Johnson, who was arrested for the third time in 18 months Thursday. Johnson was charged with possessing firearms without proper identification. Coach Lovie Smith announced Friday that Johnson woul |

Vick broke off an 11-yard run with 10 1/2 minutes left to go past Douglass, who ran for 968 yards with the Chicago Bears in 1972. Vick wound up with 990 yards, though he hurt his groin in the second half and finished the game on the bench. ``It means a lot,'' Vick said. ``It's something I can tell my kids. CHICAGO (AP) -Chicago Bears nose tackle Tank Johnson, already facing weapons charges after a raid on his home, is not responsible for the deadly shooting of his friend inside a nightclub, the player's lawyer said Saturday. Johnson was cooperating with the investigation into Willie B. Posey's death on Saturday, but police have asked him not to discuss the shooting, attorney Thomas Briscoe said. ``Tank Johnson has absolutely no responsibility for this tragic shooting,'' Briscoe said. ``He lost a very cl |

| Lake Forest, IL (MySportsbook) - Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith said on Friday that defensive tackle Tank Johnson will be deactivated Sunday against Tampa Bay. The decision by Smith comes just one day after Johnson was charged wit six misdemeanor counts of possession of a firearm without a Firearm Owner's ID card. The firearms were discovered after police searched Johnson's home. The Bears cannot fine or suspend the defensive tackle because the league handles all non-football-related incidents. John |

| Lake Forest, IL (MySportsbook) - Chicago Bears wideout Mushin Muhammad and linebacker Brian Urlacher both landed on the injury report on Friday. The biggest concern of the two appears to be Muhammad, who missed practice Friday with a hand injury and is listed as questionable. Urlacher missed practice as well with a toe injury, but is probable for Sunday's home game against Tampa Bay. In some good news for the Bears, center Olin Kreutz (knee), guard Ruben Brown (shoulder) and third string signal caller Kyl |

The 6-7 team - though it long ago said goodbye to North Division title hopes courtesy of the streaking Chicago Bears and their breakneck 11-2 pace - is just a game away from possession of one of the NFC Wild Card berths now held by the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles at 7-6. It may have to get through the Week 15 hurdle without a key weapon, however, after |
