CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -The NFL has fined Carolina Panthers safety Sherrod Martin $40,000 for a helmet-to-helmet hit in Sunday's loss to Cleveland, with the hefty penalty coming in part because he's a repeat offender. Martin confirmed the fine for the hit on Browns tight end Evan Moore in the locker room on Wednesday but declined to speak to reporters. Martin has been on the NFL's radar since Week 1, when he was docked $5,000 for a hit on New York Giants tight end Kevin Boss that gave Boss a concussion. The |

Yeah, I think it sapped the defense too," said Carroll. "[The Chiefs] did a great job of just moving the ball and taking control of it and they controlled the football game." The Seahawks get a chance to believe in yesterday this weekend when they play host to the 1-10 Carolina Panthers, who have lost all five of their road games so far this season. |

| AFC North: Memorable day for Browns' Delhomme |

| (MySportsbook) - Jake Delhomme produced plenty of terrific moments -- and quite a few harrowing ones as well -- during an eventful seven-year run as the Carolina Panthers' starting quarterback from 2003-09. The same can be said about the veteran's performance for the Cleveland Browns in Sunday's encounter with his former team. Subbing for ailing rookie Colt McCoy, Delhomme mixed in both good and bad in his first start since the season opener, but the end result was sufficient enough to help his new employers |

The complaint filed on behalf of Eric Shelton in U.S. District Court in Baltimore on Monday asks that he receive nearly $225,000 a year in pension benefits instead of about $110,000 that he was awarded in August after going through an appeals process.

| Cleveland, OH (MySportsbook) - Phil Dawson's 41-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter, coupled with John Kasay's miss of a 42-yard effort as time expired, helped the Cleveland Browns earn a 24-23 win over the Carolina Panthers. Jake Delhomme, playing against his former team after spending the last seven years in Carolina, finished 24-of-35 passing for 245 yards, but threw a pair of interceptions -- one returned for a touchdown by Captain Munnerlyn -- for Cleveland (4-7), which dropped a 24-20 decision at |

| (MySportsbook) - The last two weeks have been close but no cigar for the Cleveland Browns. This week should present an opportunity to get on track, though, as the they face the NFL's worst team when the Carolina Panthers invade Cleveland Browns Stadium on Sunday. After watching the New York Jets score in the waning seconds of overtime to pull out a win in Week 10, Cleveland allowed the Jacksonville Jaguars to go 87 yards late in the fourth quarter in a 24-20 setback last Sunday.
