NEW YORK (AP) -Rangers defenseman Dan Girardi received a two-year contract extension Saturday worth $3.1 million. The deal with the 23-year-old Girardi, in his second NHL season, was announced during New York's 5-1 victory over the Buffalo Sabres. He could've become a restricted free agent on July 1.
