ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) - Buffalo Bills starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick missed his second straight day of practice on Thursday with a right knee injury. Coach Chan Gailey expected Fitzpatrick to return to work Thursday but said after practice that the knee still bothered him. Fitzpatrick hasn't missed a snap since taking over as starter in Week 3 against New England. Receivers Donald Jones (head) and David Nelson (ribs) also didn't practice Thursday.Copyright © 2005 The Associated Press. |

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) - As fast as C.J. Spiller might be, the Buffalo Bills' first-round draft pick has discovered he can't outrun his own expectations. The rookie running back's impatience got the best of him, too. ``Probably a C-minus,'' Spiller said Wednesday in assessing a disappointing rookie season that comes to a close this weekend when the Bills (4-11) travel to play the Jets (10-5). ``I'm not going say it's a 'D', and I'm not going to say it's an 'A' or 'B.' But it didn't go exactly the way |

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) - Rex Ryan is unsure whether Mark Sanchez will play in the New York Jets' regular-season finale against the Buffalo Bills. The Jets coach said Wednesday he was leaning toward playing Sanchez ``some,'' but might not make a decision on the sore-shouldered quarterback until before the game Sunday at the New Meadowlands Stadium. The Jets (10-5) have already clinched a playoff berth. Sanchez says he's preparing to start, but was limited at practice with a sore right shoulder, the sa |

| rterback David Garrard will miss the season finale at Houston because of a finger injury. Garrard will have surgery on the middle finger of his right hand Thursday. Trent Edwards is likely to start in Garrard's place, essentially giving the former Buffalo Bills starter an audition with Jacksonville. Garrard injured his finger when he hit it on an opposing player's helmet at Indianapolis on Dec. 19. He threw a crucial interception late in the that game, and threw two more picks in a 20-17 overtime loss to |

| (MySportsbook) - Buffalo Bills wide receiver David Nelson hasn't ruled out returning for this Sunday's season finale against the New York Jets at New Meadowlands Stadium, but his head coach isn't quite so confident. Nelson was injured in the first half in this past Sunday's game against the New England Patriots in Orchard Park after taking a helmet to his rib cage while extending to make a catch. He did not return in the Bills' 34-3 loss. Buffalo finishes its season against the New York Jets this Sunday a |

| - The New England Patriots can settle in now that they're home from their snow-delayed trip. They'll be there as long as they're in the AFC playoffs. Shortly before 3 p.m. Monday, their plane landed in Providence after Sunday's 34-3 win over the Buffalo Bills. About a half hour later they were back in Foxborough. The win clinched homefield advantage throughout the conference playoffs. The storm that hit the Northeast left the Patriots stranded in western New York. They stayed overnight in Rochester bec |

The New England Patriots have secured home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs by routing the Buffalo Bills, while the Baltimore Ravens and New York Jets own at least wild cards. New England (13-2) won 34-3 and will be off during the first weekend of the postseason before hosting a second-round game. Baltimore (11-4) still could win the AFC North - it's tied with Pittsburgh, which already has a playoff berth - but does not own the tiebreaker with the Steelers in the division. The Ravens won at |
