| on a football team. So will the stepped-up play of a defense that looks nothing like the porous unit of the regular season's second-half. So will the efforts of a quarterback who has cast aside doubts about his big-game abilities by downing both the Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots with methodical drives and gigantic plays. It would be convenient to say that the Colts of the past month have returned to the form they displayed when they began the 2006 season at 9-0, though that characterization would be |

| h. (AP) -The Detroit Lions hired former Purdue head coach Jim Colletto on Monday to coach their offensive line. Colletto was UCLA's offensive line coach last season after coaching the same unit with the Oakland Raiders, for one season, and for the Baltimore Ravens from 1999-2004. ``This was a hard decision for me to make,'' Colletto said in a statement released by UCLA. ``Karl (Dorrell) gave me a great opportunity and I am thankful to him for that. ``I just felt that the opportunity with Detroit was one I |

Signed during the offseason specifically for his playoff experience, Vinatieri kicked five field goals to put his name in the NFL record book and carry Indianapolis past the Baltimore Ravens 15-6 and into the AFC championship game. Although unspectacular, Colts quarterback Peyton Manning was efficient enough to make up for some of his previous playoff failures. Indianapolis never trailed in eliminating the No. 2-seeded Ravens, who w |

| Baltimore, MD (MySportsbook) - The Baltimore Ravens announced Wednesday that the club has extended head coach Brian Billick's contract, but did not disclose any details on the terms of the extension. The extension comes less than two weeks after an otherwise successful 13-3 campaign, the best record in franchise history, ended in disappointing fashion. The Ravens, the second-seeded team in the AFC, fell 15-6 at home to the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday in the divisional round of the playoffs. Baltimore fail |

| (MySportsbook) - Use all the logic you can muster, and it still won't erase the sting for fans of the Baltimore Ravens. Objectively, the Ravens' 15-6 Divisional Round loss to the hated Colts on Saturday at M&T Bank Stadium wasn't much of an upset. Baltimore won 13 games during the regular season, Indianapolis 12. The Colts' offense, with its quarterback that is nearly impossible to pressure, was a matchup problem for the Ravens' defense, which has based its stifling reputation in large part on an ability |

| Baltimore, MD (MySportsbook) - The Baltimore Ravens promoted quarterbacks coach Rick Neuheisel to offensive coordinator on Monday. Neuheisel will run all offensive meetings and continue to guide Baltimore quarterbacks -- similar to what he did last season -- while head coach Brian Billick will still call the plays. Billick took over play-calling duties last year when the Ravens fired then- offensive coordinator Jim Fassel after six games. Baltimore went on to win nine of the next 10 games after the switch an |

OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) -The Baltimore Ravens promoted Rick Neuheisel to offensive coordinator Monday, although coach Brian Billick said he'll continue to call the plays next season. Billick fired Jim Fassel as offensive coordinator on Oct. 17 and manned the position himself, a move that rejuvenated both the head coach and the Ravens' attack. With Billick directing the offense, Baltimore went 9-1 before being eliminated from the playoffs with a 15-6 loss to Indianapolis on Saturday. The Ravens expect to |

BALTIMORE (AP) -Not long from now, the Baltimore Ravens will reflect on the season and recognize they finished with the best record in franchise history. They will remember fielding the top-ranked defense in the NFL and bouncing back from a 6-10 season to earn the No. 2 seed in the AFC. None of that was of any consolation following their one-and-out performance in the playoffs. ``We're disappointed,'' coach Brian Billick said after the Ravens' 15-6 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. ``At some point - not no |
