Fast Fact: Saints became only the second team since the 1970 merger to be shut out in the first half one week after scoring 60 or more points, with the Atlanta Falcons also doing so on Sept. 23, 1973. Prediction: Saints' offense that has been nearly unstoppable at home this season bounces back strongly against a Tampa team that's been sloppy on the road at times. A loss to the San Francisco 49ers was followed by "handshake-gate" between head coaches Jim Schwartz and Jim Harbaugh, which was followed a week later by a listless 23-16 home defeat to the Atlanta Falcons. The Lions enter Sunday's Week 8 matchup with the Denver Broncos at Sports Authority Field, where they'll see quarterbacking phenom Tim Tebow, with some issues of their own at the position, though theirs is tied to injury. | Detroit, MI (MySportsbook) - Atlanta Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez moved into second place on the NFL's all-time receptions list on Sunday versus the Detroit Lions. On 1st-and-10 at the Detroit 20 late in the second quarter, Gonzalez caught a short two-yard pass for his fourth of the game and 1,103rd of his career. That moved him past Marvin Harrison for the second spot and he now trails just Jerry Rice, but is unlikely to pass him as Rice finished his illustrious career with 1,549 catches. |
