ts Network) - For the Detroit Lions, who will meet the San Francisco 49ers at Ford Field on Sunday afternoon, winning streaks have been mighty hard to come by. But the beleaguered Lions franchise, which last week shocked the NFL world by dealing the Atlanta Falcons a 30-17 loss, will know just what the experience feels like should they take down San Francisco. The Lions last won two in a row to open the 2004 season, beating the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans in back-to-back weeks, but failing to maintain the

Falcons trying to avoid another second-half collapse NFL Football 11/09/2006

ATLANTA (AP) -The Atlanta Falcons are still a little sensitive about the way they finished last year, especially when someone points out the parallels to this season.

The Falcons reached the midway point with a winning record (5-3), one game off their pace in 2005. But they're plagued by injuries - hmmm, that sounds familiar - and just got beaten by a one-win team, which is the way they started the second half a year ago on the way to losing six of their final eight games.
