Bears host Falcons in matchup of 2010 playoff entries NFL Football 09/09/2011
(MySportsbook) - One team reached the playoffs and was handed its head at home. The other beat a division champion and went to the wire in a bid for the Super Bowl. But given the general perceptions of the Atlanta Falcons and Chicago Bears, who will face one another Sunday at Soldier Field in the first meaningful game for each team since it was ousted in January, it'd be hard to tell which is which. The Falcons entered the NFC playoffs as a No. 1 seed at the tail end of a 13- win regular season last winter,
New-look Eagles to open season in St. Louis NFL Football 09/09/2011
(MySportsbook) - This is the moment Michael Vick has been waiting for, to enter an NFL season as a starting quarterback again. Vick hasn't began a season under center since his final year with the Atlanta Falcons back in 2006, and was out of football for two years before the Philadelphia Eagles gave him a shot at redemption prior to the 2009 campaign. So far everything has worked out for Vick in his second chance, though the current expectations for both himself and the Eagles have been raised a notch. The

Flowery Branch, GA (MySportsbook) - The Atlanta Falcons waived eight players on Saturday to get to the required 53-man limit, with quarterback John Parker Wilson the most notable of the team's cuts. Wilson, who had served as Atlanta's No. 3 quarterback the past two seasons, was waived along with safety Rafael Bush, wide receivers Kevin Cone and Drew Davis, guard Andrew Jackson, linebacker Robert James, defensive end Emmanuel Stephens, offensive tackle Jose Valdez. The Falcons also released veteran center Br

He has logged 298 tackles, nine interceptions and 37 passes defensed during his career. The former second-round draft pick totaled 61 tackles and two picks in 11 games last year. Sanders is also a six-year veteran, having been with the Patri
Brown's INT boosts Ravens over Falcons NFL Football 09/02/2011
Atlanta, GA (MySportsbook) - Chykie Brown's 65-yard interception return for a touchdown gave the Baltimore Ravens a lead they would not relinquish in their 21-7 preseason-concluding victory over the Atlanta Falcons. Hunter Cantwell took the majority of the snaps for the Ravens, completing 13- of-28 passes for 111 yards and an interception. Damien Berry capped the scoring with a five-yard, fourth-quarter touchdown run and Billy Cundiff hit 2-of-3 field goal attempts for Baltimore, which opens the regular sea
Falcons reward McKay with promotion NFL Football 09/01/2011
Flowery Branch, GA (MySportsbook) - The Atlanta Falcons have promoted Rich McKay to president & CEO of the club. McKay has been the president of the Falcons since 2003. "Since joining the Falcons in 2003, there is no doubt that Rich has been a valuable leader of our club," Falcons owner Arthur Blank said. "Beyond his day-to-day duties as president of the Falcons, Rich has led a good number of key initiatives for us. In addition, he is increasingly enlisted by the league as someone who can be counted on

Pittsburgh, PA (MySportsbook) - Pittsburgh Steelers backup quarterback Byron Leftwich broke his left arm during Saturday night's preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons. Late in the third quarter, Leftwich scrambled to his right for six yards. Atlanta linebacker Stephen Nicholas took down Leftwich, who landed on the turf awkwardly. Dennis Dixon will now be the backup to starter Ben Roethlisberger.

Pittsburgh, PA (MySportsbook) - Ben Roethlisberger completed 11-of-16 passes for 214 yards and two touchdowns, as the Pittsburgh Steelers took down the Atlanta Falcons, 34-16, in preseason action. Antonio Brown caught both of Roethlisberger's touchdown passes -- 77 and 44 yards. The second-year pro out of Central Michigan ended with four catches for 137 yards. Jaguars sign RB Young, waive S Whitehead NFL Football 08/23/2011
Albert Young and waived safety Terrell Whitehead on Tuesday. Young spent the last three seasons in Minnesota after latching on as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa in 2008. He appeared in three games with the Vikings in 2010, rushing for 29 yards on 13 carries, before suffering a season-ending knee injury. Whitehead, a second-year Norfolk State product, suffered a shoulder injury in Friday's preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons. He will revert to the Jaguars' injured reserve list if he clears waivers.
Atlanta Falcons 2011 Season Preview NFL Football 08/21/2011
(MySportsbook) - The Atlanta Falcons hit every green light last season until crossing the median and getting blindsided in the playoffs. That obstacle in the divisional round of the postseason was of course, eventual Super Bowl champion Green Bay. The field-stretching Packers had the opposite game plan than Atlanta, which primarily opted to run first before letting quarterback Matt Ryan do his thing in the pocket last season. Turns out a pass-happy offense can win it all. So how did that philosophy work out
