Frerotte to Berrian for 99 yards is Vikings recordMINNEAPOLIS (AP) -Gus Frerotte and Bernard Berrian have set a Minnesota Vikings record with a 99-yard touchdown pass late in the second quarter against the Chicago Bears. From the back of his end zone, Frerotte found a wide open Berrian. It was the longest offensive play in team history. Seconds earlier, the Bears were stopped four straight times from the 1-yard line during the Sunday night game. Berrian burned former teammate Charles Tillman and sped down the sideline untouched to give Minnesota a 10-7 lead on the 11th 99-yard pass play in NFL history. Tillman had moved to the inside to apparently cut off a post route. The Vikings' previous longest offensive play came in the franchise's second season, an 89-yard pass from Fran Tarkenton to Charley Ferguson on Nov. 11, 1962.
